Is Claire Troughton Jewellery Great?

Claire Troughton has been nominated as a Great of Great Britain in a fantastic competition celebrating everything wonderful about Britain in the run up to the Olympic games. There are some big names on the list, from Winston Churchill to Adele, plus national pleasures of a cup of tea and a full English breakfast and British quirks like queueing! As a small business, making all our jewellery in Britain it’s just nice to be recognised. We’re currently doing well and can be found in the products section. We would love to share Claire Troughton Jewellery with an international audience.  Please help and vote by clicking the link below. It only takes a minute – honest!

Bouquet Commission Ring

This unique ring was commissioned from Claire Troughton after a lovely couple had almost all their jewellery stolen whilst living abroad and wanted something to help put the bad memory behind them when they returned to the UK. They decided to replace the lady’s wedding and engagement ring with one truly unique and eye-catching piece. It started life as a doodle on a napkin and a bag of old broken gold jewellery that the thieves didn’t want.

Claire was delighted to work with the couple to bring their dream to reality. She used the old jewellery to fashion little flowers, based on a primrose, to symbolise their new beginning in England and incorporate their daughter’s name. Each one was set alternately with a pink or white diamond. The main body of the ring was made in 18ct white gold and Claire also intertwined through this the narrow yellow gold wedding ring that used to belong to the lady’s mother, thus creating a truly personal and sentimental piece.

A glittering prize for ‘Help For Heroes’

We were delighted to be involved in a glittering ball at Chester Racecourse in September 2011 in aid of the very worthy charity ‘Help For Heroes’. In partnership with solicitors Walker Smith Way we sponsored a game to win a prize of a £1000 piece of jewellery, designed and made by Claire Troughton. We raised over £4000 for the charity.

Claire worked with the winner to produce a gorgeous white gold bangle cradling a brilliant cut diamond.

Craft & Design Selected Awards 2011

Claire Troughton was very proud to be voted FINALIST in the Craft & Design SELECTED AWARDS 2011 – Jewellery & precious metal. With over 1000 contemporary makers in the running this is a fantastic accolade.

Bronagh Waugh (Hollyoaks actress) recently purchased some pieces from Claire and she has supplied ‘pea pod’ pendants for celebs appearing on ‘That Sunday Night Show’, including Sophie Ellis-Bexter and Janet Street-Porter.
