Gold vermeil, like gold-plating is a thin layer of 22ct gold over sterling silver (but vermeil is slightly thicker). Although this won't tarnish like silver, it can wear, giving the appearance that it has faded. Everyday or very frequent wear may speed up the process, especially on rings. I therefore now offer a re-plate and re-finish service for Sunrise rings. Just purchase the Sunrise re-finish & gold vermeil product and post your ring back to me with a note of the order number and whether your ring was originally matt or polished. I will then clean the ring, take out scratches, plate the Sunrise and inside the ring and restore the polished or matt finish to the outside.
