Etched Silver Leaping Hare and Fossil PHD Graduation Gift Ring

This etched silver leaping hare and fossil ring was the most thoughtful gift for a graduate finishing her PHD. The commissioner wanted a gift to celebrate her wife's achievement as well as incorporating elements from her background. I drew a design by hand, featuring a leaping hare, fossilised ferns and ammonites and etched it into the ring. We wanted the design to look rustic as if the ring had been unearthed after centuries in the ground. I gave it a beaten look with a hammered edge to extend this idea. Finally I set a few diamonds into the ring, some white and some salt & pepper to signify the graduate's roots in a mining town. A totally unique and personal graduation gift to celebrate such a fabulous achievement.

Although this was commissioned as a graduation gift the same sort of ideas could be extended to a wedding ring, incorporating ideas that are personal to you. Prices are a guide only and all commissions will be quoted for individually.
